By acting NOW!

To turn the tables on climate change we need to act now. And it's not just the environment that will benefit. Cutting energy consumption has a 'triple win' outcome: reduced CO2 emissions, financial savings and a stronger green strategy.

Grundfos is a proud partner in Act NOW, which is a partnership between private, public and non-governmental organisations. Its goal is to advance the cause of reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions through fostering greater awareness of the solutions and technologies available to us - NOW.

"The message in Act NOW is that all parties, politicians and private businesses alike, must take action," says Grundfos CEO, Carsten Bjerg. "Act NOW bridges the gap between commitment and action by engaging decision-makers from business, politics and NGOs so that they learn how easy and fast we can create improvements for business and climate issues."

For participants, 'Act NOW' entails a commitment to taking full advantage of the energy efficient solutions already available, rather than sitting around waiting for future technology to come to market.

Act NOW's origin lies in Grundfos and our focus on meeting the energy challenge now. Based on the fact that pumps account for as much as 10 per cent of the world's electricity consumption, it was initially designed to create awareness about the hidden opportunities that solutions like pumps present in lowering CO2 emissions and reducing energy consumption.

Since its start, Act NOW has grown to become its own non-affiliated entity, most recently uniting forces with the European Commissioner for Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard. It will help support the EU initiative, 'A World You Like' that spreads knowledge about green initiatives in Europe by delivering specific examples of energy efficient technology that is ready to be implemented.
